The SCO seeks to serve Christ by developing opportunities for students in South Africa to be transformed by Him to be effective Christians for today's world.

To develop people who remain dedicated and committed in pursuing the purpose of proclaiming Christ, and who will be Academically, Socially, Economically and Politically relevant so as to have the capacity to contribute to student life on campus as well as surrounding communities and our country and the world in general.

The Holy Scriptures as originally given by God, are divinely inspired, entirely trustworthy and supreme authority in all matters for Faith and conduct. There is one God, eternally existent and pronounced in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This Sovereign God created the universe and pronounced it good. Our Lord Jesus Christ is God visible in a body, born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life. During his earthly ministry he did miracles. He died in our place to atone for our sins. He was buried and on the third day he rose from the dead. He will personally return in power and authority.

Humankind, male and female, were created in the image of God, with consequent dignity, delegate authority and creation stewardship. As a result of the fall of man, all people are lost and sinful, subject to condemnation and in need of salvation. Salvation is available only throughout the redemption work of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ and His salvation are received-by repentance and faith, apart from human effort, as the Holy Spirit about the new birth. The Holy Spirit convicts and impacts new life to them, indwelling, empowering and equipping each believer, who is thereby obliged and enabled to live a-holy life, to witness, and to serve the Lord Jesus Christ.

His Kingdo concerns of worship, prayer, evangelism, discipline, compassion, justice and righteousness. All believers in the Lord Jesus Christ are spiritually united with each other, they comprise the church, the body of Christ, for which He is the Head. We expect the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ. All the dead will be raised on the last day-those saved to eternal life, and those who are lost to condemnation.
